Modern Life Template, Depressingly Common

On the far side of forty, over- or under-educated, depending on context, and living in the midst of an economic downturn, Bosh Carson found himself seriously unemployable. Scanning the want ads, finding employers who were only interested in candidates with a Bachelor's Degree to work for minimum wage, he began each day believing this would be a good day to take up drinking in the morning. With a strident, out-spoken ex-wife to whom he owed child support leaving daily messages of merciless clarity, Bosh could survey his life and believe he had finally achieved the American Dream.
