Making Sense
Two years ago, he didn’t write anything in the card. He simply signed; Best regards, Graham. Last year he didn’t send a card, but he thought about it. He thought about it right through to April. This year, he writes;
Dear James,
I recently underwent a scan and there is evidence of damage to my frontal lobe. This is almost certainly the result of the car accident that left me in a coma for three months. I would like to point out that I never had any problems before then. Of course, you would have been too young to remember that. I have included the title of a journal article in Psychiatry Research, the volume and page number, which outlines a clear link between frontal lobe damage and obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD). I have also included a second reference explaining that individuals with OCD are susceptible to angry outbursts. I quote;
"When events deviate from their sense of the way the world ‘should be’, episodes of intense anger are characteristic."
I don’t know what you remember or what your mother has told you, but I think this goes a long way to explaining some of the problems I had.
He thinks he has made some good points. He writes - Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, and hopes that this year, it might is.
