"An Inconvenience" by L A Craig

If you're feeling creative, why not send us a story?

We're looking for original material, about 250 words or so - as much as you could more or less fit on a postcard.

The inspiration for this site comes from a challenge made by George Hay, a science fiction magazine editor in the 1970s, to Arthur C. Clarke (and others). The challenge was to write a short story to put on a postcard. One result was Arthur C. Clarke's story "Quarantine", which you can read here, along with more of the history.

Postcard shorts is open to all genres of flash fiction. We hope you enjoy the site!
